The Cheshire Cat is the major character in Disney's 13th full-length animated feature film Alice in Wonderland. He is a mysterious, pink-and-purple-striped cat with a permanent grin. Mischievous and unpredictable in nature, the Cheshire Cat acts as a guide for Alice during her adventures in Wonderland, but also takes pleasure in causing her trouble.
In the 1951 film, he was voiced by the late Sterling Holloway, who also played Kaa in The Jungle Book. In all later appearances, he was voiced by Jim Cummings, who also played Peg Leg Pete, Kaa, and many more Disney Characters.
